A motor auction is basically an agent operating between people wishing to sell vehicles and those who wish to purchase them. However, there is more to understand about an auction than just this. Hopefully the information contained in our site will give you a clearer understanding of motor auctions. The motor auctions are an invaluable service within the motor industry, some of which which have been around almost as long as the car itself. Auctions allow organisations of all sizes to dispose and hence replace many thousands of vehicles each year and with the majority of auctions being trusted to dispose of surplus vehicles on behalf of Local Authorities, Police Forces, British Telecom and numerous other organisations and businesses, you can be sure of an extremely wide choice indeed. The bulk of cars sold at an auction reflect popular given makes and models on the road. Price, choice and convenience are important to remember when visiting an auction. In terms of price, you will be paying the same price as the trade. The choice of the makes and models of vehicles available at an auction is tremendous as auctions are not tied to any particular manufacturer. Convenience, simply because it would take weeks to view as many cars privately as you could view at one public auction. It is advisable to use your first trip to the auction to familiarise yourself with the fast pace at which car sales are dealt with. This is merely to enable every vehicle a chance to sell within the allotted time. The auctioneers themselves are experienced and can be invaluable should you require their advice. |

If you decide to sell your vehicle, you will be required to supply the vehicle with its registration document (V5). Any other documents (MOT Certificates, Service History, Receipts etc...) will assist in selling the vehicle. It is advisable to present the vehicle for sale in clean and tidy condition. Once the vehicle is delivered for sale you will be required to complete, in full, an entry form. This is used by the auctioneer to describe the vehicle from the rostrum. When you sell your vehicle "AS SEEN" it is up to the prospective buyer to determine its condition and value. Once your vehicle has been sold, subject to all documents being in order, you will receive a cheque which normally takes five working days |
